INITRAMFS_FSTYPES ?= "cpio.gz cpio.xz"
The last assignment IMAGE_FSTYPES = "${INITRAMFS_FSTYPES}" did in fact
reset the value to IMAGE_FSTYPES_collie, thus not producing cpio.gz / cpio.xz.
